Standard 12-month warranty plus the extended manufacturer cover that comes with many of our ranges — in plain English.

Standard 12-month warranty

Every piece of furniture and every electrical item we sell carries a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials or workmanship. This sits on top of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which give you up to six years to claim against goods that are not of satisfactory quality).

Extended manufacturer warranties

Premium upholstery (leather and high-density foam)	5 – 10 years on frame, 2 years on covers
Solid timber dining and bedroom	5 years on construction
Pocket-sprung mattresses	5 – 8 years (manufacturer specific)
Recliner and motion-action furniture	2 – 5 years on mechanism
Small electricals	1 – 2 years per manufacturer

Specific warranty details are confirmed in writing on your order acknowledgement and on the manufacturer's warranty card.

What is covered

Defects in materials or workmanship present at the time of delivery.
Premature failure of mechanisms, frames or fixings under normal household use.
Fabric or leather defects not visible at delivery.

What is not covered

Fair wear and tear — mild creasing of leather, settling of foam fillings, slight colour change due to sunlight.
Damage caused by misuse, accident, pets, or unsuitable cleaning products.
Goods used in a commercial setting unless we have specifically agreed a contract specification.
Items returned without proof of purchase (your order number or receipt).

How to make a claim

Email enquiries@jandmmcewen.co.uk with your order number, photographs of the issue, and a short description.
We will reply within one working day and tell you whether the claim is covered.
For straightforward fixes (replacement cushion cover, replacement fixings) we will despatch directly.
For complex claims we may need to arrange a technician visit at no cost to you.
